HRSD Williamsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant
Client Type: Municipal
Location: Williamsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant
Warren Product Type: Carbon Fiber inlayed Warren 301-14
Description: ECI crews mobilized to rehabilitate a failing 36” cement line steel pipe at Williamsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant for HRSD and Bridgeman Civil. This line ran from the diversion structure to the clarifier with horizonal and vertical bends. Stiffeners were left in existing structure causing ragging and additional gas build-up. This build up of H2S gas caused the formation for a 10ft hole in the top of the pipe. ECI applied carbon fiber sheets where structure was lost and then coated the entire pipe with 325 mils of 301-14 Warren Environmental Epoxy. This method of trenchless pipe repair save the plant from extensive excavation and road closures. ECI was not only able to save the plant money but also reduce downtime significantly.
